83rd OSCAR competition for the best non-English language feature film: nine entries submitted to German Films

Nine producers have followed the call from German Films to rights-holders of German feature films and submitted the following films:

The nine-person independent expert jury will view all of the films in their entirety on 35mm in a cinema in Munich next week and then decide in a jury sitting which film will represent Germany in the race for the Academy Award. The jury will be composed as follows: Verband Deutscher Filmproduzenten: Peter Seitz, Allianz Deutscher Produzenten - Film & Fernsehen: Max Wiedemann, Verband Deutscher Filmexporteure: Wolfgang Wilke, Verband der Filmverleiher: Manuela Stehr, Hauptverband Deutscher Filmtheater HDF KINO: Steffen Kuchenreuther, Bundesverband Kamera: Franz Rath, Verband der deutschen Filmkritik: Hanns-Georg Rodek, Bundesverband der Fernseh- und Filmregisseure: Dagmar Hirtz, Deutsche Filmakademie: Maria Koepf.

The Academy’s „short list“ with nine titles will be unveiled on 18 January, 2011. The five nominated films will be announced on 25 January, 2011.
The awards ceremony is held on 27 February, 2011.
